about

Library Music is the first album of original jams and remixes, created by the pfft ensemble. The ensemble works with iPads, touchOSC, Max and other playful technologies to co-create improvisation instruments and interfaces, and then jams with them.

Four of the tracks on this album are live recordings of jams that took place in the library of HMP Inverness between autumn 2021 and summer 2022. The remaining four are remixes of other jams.

NB The original jams on this album are made available here under an "Attribution Non-Commercial Share Alike" creative commons license. This means that if you download the album you are free to remix, rework, recompose these tracks and send them out into the world yourself, as long as you don't make money from them, and as long as you credit and link back to the pfft ensemble. We'd love to hear what you make!

This album was created as part of a residency with the Highland Culture Collective and would not have been possible without the help of the staff of HMP Inverness, Fèis Rois, and Highland Third Sector Interface.
